Vale - Ramsay McMasterThe President, Board and Staff of Golf Victoria express their deepest sympathy at the sudden passing of much respected Golf Physiotherapist Ramsay McMaster. Ramsay was a wonderful part of Victorian golf being a pioneer in educating golfers about how to become functionally fit for their sport, including developing a far greater awareness of their bodies and the demands of the golf swing. His work helped to set the base platform on the importance of sports science in modern golf. Born in Scotland and with a passion for golf from a young age, this developed further when he migrated to Australia and established arguably the World's first ever Golf Injury Clinic - The Melbourne Golf Injury Clinic. This has serviced over 4,500 amateur and golf club golfers of all ages from all over the world, and has provided over 50,000 fitness programs and golf specific treatments. Ramsay has been a major part of Golf Victoria (formerly VGA/WGV) junior and elite player development programs for over 20 years including involvement with both the VIS Golf Program and former AIS Golf Programs. Golf Victoria's deepest sympathies are extended to his wife Caroline and the McMaster family.
