2009 Victorian Amateur Sandgreen Championship
Yarrawonga's Judy Kruger won her second Victorian Sand Greens Championship at Grampians Golf Club with scores of 83-79 (162).
In stunning conditions on the picturesque Grampians layout, Judy trailed overnight leader. local club champion Martina Whelan by 4 shots heading into the final round of the 36 Hole Championship.
Judy eventually won the title from Horsham and Balmoral golfer Carmel Officer, who carded rounds of 86-79 (165). Carmel snatched the Runner-Up trophy in a countback from former 2-time winner Helen Leech of Calivil/Neanger Park fame.

Grampians Club Champion Martina Whelan, off a handicap of 20, opened the Victorian Sand Greens Championship on her home track with the round of her life 79-20-59!
Martina, who is playing in B Division, leads the entire field by 3 shots. Belvoir Park's Brianna Scarff is the next best with an 82off the stick with Yarrawonga's Judy Kruger one shot further back on 83.
Defending champion Maryanne Davis (Murray Downs) is still of the pace following an opening round of 85.
In the nett event, Martina is streets ahead with 59, followed by Quarry Hill's Jeanette Dixon with a 69 nett.

The Victorian Sandgreen Championship is a 36 hole scratch stroke event open to amateur players who hold a Golf Australia Handicap at an affiliated club, not exceeding 35 at the date of entry.
The Sandgreen Championship is a popular event and the field often reaches capacity prior to entries closing.

As part of the Sandgreen Championship, all players are invited to attend a welcome party on the eve of the opening round,between 5.00-6.30pm and a tournament dinner following the completion of Round 1. Tickets for the tournament dinner will be available at The Welcome Party at a cost of $30 to be held at Boort Memorial Hall at 7.00pm.
