Women's Golf Victoria offers 34 events on its annual Tournament Calendar. WGV coordinate and deliver various State Championships, teams and pairs events catering to all levels of playing ability. 

WGV also supports and raises money for charity organisations such as the Royal Women's Hospital and Foundation for Young Australians within our tournament program.

Victorian Junior Championship

Tilly Poulsen wins her first Vic Junior Championship Title

Outstanding young Kingston Heath golfer Tilly Poulsen (left) won her first Victorian Junior State Championship title at Kooringal Golf Club.
 
Tilly continued her great form from last week's Interstate Series, where she represented Victoria in the Senior State Team. In the 36 Hole Final, Tilly defeated a very much in form Breanna Elliott (Yarrawonga) 5/4.
 
In the Under 18 Division Final, Sunshine's  Stephanie Robinson defeated Cohuna's Sienna Lambert on the 19th, while Bianca Ling (Kingswood) defeated Claudia Marazita (The Sands) 8/6 to win the Under 16 Final convincingly.

Elliott on fire to advance to the final

Yarrawonga's Breanna Elliott (pictured left) charged into the final of the Victorian Junior Championship with a resounding victory in the semi-final at Sunshine Golf Club.
 
Elliott, who is enjoying outstanding form, ousted another impressive young player Su-Hyun Oh (Kingston Heath) 5/4 to advance to the final at Kooringal GC.
 
The 17-year-old will now player State player Tilly Poulsen, 16, (Kingston Heath) in the final.
 
In the Under 18 Division semi finals, Sienna Lambert (Cohuna) was given a walkover by Crosby Kang (Spring Valley) and will play Sunshine's Stephanie Robinson after she defeated Samantha Fleming (Melton Valley) 3/2.
 
In the Under 16 Division semi, Bianca Ling (Kingswood) defeated Emily Smith (Murray Downs) 3/1, while Claudia Marazita defeated 9-year-old Soo Bin Park (Kingswood) 3/2.

State players heat up at Sunshine

Victorian Junior State team members Tilly Poulson, Jacinta Brideson and Bre Elliott have played their way through to the Semi Finals of the 2009 Victorian Junior Championship. Joining them in the final four is Kingston Heath star and defending Champion Su Oh.

In extremely windy conditions, Elliott defeated Jess Pickwick 2/1 and in the other close match Su Oh got over the line on the 18th against Britney Mueck.

Playing against fellow State Junior team member Reanna Matthews, Jacinta Brideson's game powered through the wind to win the quarter final match 5/3.

Fresh from her duties with the Senior Women's State team, Tilly Poulsen showed why she is a player to watch with a 4/3 win over up and coming golfer Julienne Soo.

Yarrawonga youngster leads Vic Junior Qualifiers

 
Yarrawonga's Breanna (pictured on the right) carded back to back even par 72s to win the Audrey McLaren Trophy for top qualifier in the Victorian Junior Championship at Sunshine GC.
 
Southern's Jacinta (pictured on the left) posted a two-round total of 152 to qualify in second place, one shot ahead of Tilly Poulsen (Kingston Heath), with Heathcote's Britney Mueck in fourth place on 156.
 
The remaining four qualifiers where Su-Hyun Oh (Kingston Heath) 157, Julienne Soo (Woodlands) 157, Reanna Matthews (Leongatha) 159 and in a sudden death playoff for the eighth and final place, Kilmore's Jessica Pickwick defeated Cohuna's Sienna Lambert - both finished on 162.

Breanna Elliott smashed the course record to lead qualifiers after Day 1

Yarrawonga's Breanna Elliott continued her fabulous form to shoot an even par 72, to smash the old course record at Sunshine GC and to lead after the first round of the Victorian Junior Championship.

With the previous course record sitting on 80 at the 18 month old layout, Breanna played consistent golf to par both nines to set her self up in a solid position for the rest of the tournament.
 
Breanna leads 2009 Victorian Amateur Runner-up Tilly Poulsen (Kingston Heath GC) by 3 shots going into the final qualifying round at Sunshine Golf Club.

The Victorian Junior Championship is played annually during the September school holiday period. It takes the form of two rounds of 18 hole stroke qualifying, followed by knock-out matchplay. Trophies that are presented include:
