Lexton's Shelagh Reynolds win Silver Spoon Final
With an outstanding score of 42 points, Lexton's Shelagh Reynolds was the run away winner of this year's Silver Spoon State Final at Kingston Heath Golf Club.
Four points clear of the rest of the field, several players carded rounds of 38 points, however it was Kris Slocomber (Cerberus) who survived a countback for runner-up from Eastern's May Wong, Kyneton's Judy Quick and Sorrento's Penelope Lindeman.

Entry: $2 per player
This event is open to all WGV fully affiliated golf clubs. A player is eligible to compete for the Silver Spoon in all WGV affiliated golf clubs of which she is a member.
The Silver Spoon Event was first played in 1921 where silver medals where given to each player and a gold medal given to the play-off winner until 1925. Today each player receives a silver spoon and the winner receives a case of four spoons.
Format
Club Level - Affiliated golf clubs arrange four (4) stroke or stableford rounds on their own course
State Level - 18 holes Stableford
Qualifying - Club Level

Players enter at any stage of the competition, except the final round, on payment of the full entry fee. A player may enter in one or all the club rounds

The same player may win any number of the qualifying rounds

In the instance of a tie, players playoff in a fifth round on their own course

The winner in each club receives a WGV Silver Spoon, which will be presented to them at the final or if not competing, forwarded to them via their District Delegate.
Qualifying - State Level
- The winners of each club qualifying will proceed to the State Final
- The winner of the State Final will be presented with a case of spoons
- The runner up will also be awarded a trophy
