Women's Golf Victoria offers 34 events on its annual Tournament Calendar. WGV coordinate and deliver various State Championships, teams and pairs events catering to all levels of playing ability. 

WGV also supports and raises money for charity organisations such as the Royal Women's Hospital and Foundation for Young Australians within our tournament program.

The Kangaroo Trophy (4 Day Anglesea Camp)

The 4 Day Camp began with the annual Kangaroo Trophy held on Tuesday the 29th of June, with 33 girls between the ages of 12-17 years of age, participating in the event.

Congratulations to Tilly Poulsen from Kingston Heath who won the Overall Kangaroo Trophy Gross winner for the second year in a row with a score of 77. Tilly won by 1 shot over Kingswood Junior Bianca Ling.

Julienne Soo from Woodlands won the Gross Winner for the 12-14 age category.

The overall nett winner was won by Zoe Larrieu (H’cap 19) from Patterson River Country Club, this was Zoe’s first camp and she had a great round, scoring nett 70.

The A grade nett winner was won by  Bianca Ling (Kingswood) with a nett 74, Alex White from the Dunes had a score of 71 to take out the B grade nett winner and Alexandra Makin from Chirnside Park won the C grade nett with 75.

The 9 hole competition was won by Hannah O’Brien from The Dunes Golf Club who had a Gross score of 57.

The 4 Day campers followed on with 3 days of coaching in groups of 6. The camp also included physical screenings, strength and conditioning, High Ropes and lots of games.

Women’s Golf Victoria would like to congratulate all the juniors for their achievement on completing the camps.

WGV would also like to acknowledge and thank the volunteers, the coaches, Camp Wilkin and Anglesea Golf Club for their continued support and contribution to the development of Girls Golf in Victoria, without them these camps would not be made possible.

2009 Kangaroo Trophy


The Kangaroo Trophy was held on June 30 2009 on the first day of the Anglesea Camp, Tilly Poulson (3) from Kingston Heath won the overall gross on a count back with the defending champion Rachel Korevaar (5) from Queens Park.

Alex White (33) from The Dunes won the Overall Nett with a score of 68 and

Anna Coffey (45) from Traralgon won the 9 hole stableford competition. Congratulations to all girls who completed the camp and we look forward to seeing you at future events

A big thank you to Anglesea Golf Club for giving up their course and practice facilities for the camp. WGV also would like to thank all the volunteers and coaches who made the camp possible.

About

The WGV Kangaroo Trophy is played during the annual 4 Day Anglesea Junior Girls' Golf Camp at Anglesea Golf Club. The winner and runner up of the gross event are invited to represent Victoria at the Jack Newton Junior Invitational Tournament, played each October in Cessnock, NSW.

Without doubt, the Kangaroo Trophy is one of the major events on the junior tournament calendar with player's results and performances counting towards State Team selection.
