About
The WGV International Bowl is a club based event that sees entry fees donated to Golf Australia to support Australian golfers compete in International events.
The event is open to all amateur players who are members of WGV affiliated golf clubs.
The entry fee of $2.20 per player entitles each player to return cards in one, two or three stroke events held at her club within the period stated.
Format
The event is broken down into three divisions:
- Silver: Scratch to 18
- Bronze 1: 19 to 36
- Bronze 2: 37 to 45
Trophies
WGV asks clubs to forward results of the best nett scores of the winner and runner up in each division. WGV then collates all results from across the State to determine the winners.
Trophies are awarded to the winner of each division in memory of Florence Green.
In the past the winner in each division received a silver salver given in memory of Miss Florence Green who was General Secretary of the VLGU from 1912 to 1930 and Hon Treasurer from 1930 to 1959. Silver winners used to keep the International Bowl trophy for six months and then give it to the Bronze winners to keep for six months.
