Yarra Yarra take out second Doris final

In what can best be described as "trying" conditions, Yarra Yarra's Robin Jellis and Ley Deakin scrambled 36 points, to win the second Doris Chambers Cup State Final at Amstel (Ranfurlie) Golf Club.

Three points back on 33 points were runners-up, Janet Laycock and Donna Lee of Cranbourne.

Both sets of winners will be invited to the WGV AGM where they will be formally presented with the Doris Chambers Cup.

About

The Doris Chambers Cup is an 18 Hole Stableford Foursomes Event.

The perpetual trophy was donated by Miss Doris Chambers O.B.E, former Ladies Golf Union President and was first played in 1950.

Each WGV Affiliated Club wishing to take part in the competition will play an elimination round on its own course on a fixed date. Each pair pays an entry fee of which the total fees are sent to Women's Golf Victoria.

The leading pair from each Club will be eligible to compete in one of two final rounds. The Doris Chambers Cup is shared by the Club of the winning pairs at each course.
