Round 2

Looking ominous prior to play commencing the heavens cleared to a fine but very windy day for the 2nd qualifying round of the Champion of Champions at Spring Valley. Scores tended to be a little higher than for round one. Well done again to Rio Watanabe who had another strong score of 3 over par 77 and took out the Joan Fisher Plate for the best 36 hole gross event (pictured below with GV Board Member, Sue Rea). Congratulations must also go to Grace Daniell, Metropolitan and handicap of 3, who won the Gwenda Anderson Bowl with a total nett score of 145. Click here for final scores

Round 1

November saw round one of the qualifying rounds for the 2011 Golf Victoria Champion of Champions being held at Spring Valley. Whilst the radar initially looked worrying, the day cleared up and conditions for the players were almost perfect, albeit a little steamy.

Congratulations to the Spring Valley groundstaff who had the course prepared in the most magnificent of condition, the players truly enjoying the layout.

Well done to the youngest player in the field, Rio Watanabe from Yarra Yarra, who qualified to play in the field having recently won the Golf Victoria Junior Championship, and playing off a handicap of scratch, had the round of the day with a 2 under par of 72. Click here for all scores.
