Croydon GC wins Bronze Teams

On a beautifully groomed Northern Golf Club 38 teams from all over Victoria were challenged by strong winds and short , velcro-like rough! Whilst some players struggled, Cassie Barr’s 40 points were crucial for the Croydon Team’s victory. Cassie was also the runner up in the individual stableford competition only coming shot on a count back against Margaret Pharr from Victoria GC. Players enjoyed a light lunch in the club house followed by the trophy presentation from Golf Victoria. Special thank you to Northern Golf Club and all its staff for offering this venue at short notice due to the flood damage suffered by Latrobe GC which was the original venue. Once again Bronze Teams proved to be a successful a well-attended event in the women’s calendar!

Winners: CROYDON GOLF CLUB

Players: Sue Thompson (32), Julie Woodham (24) and Cassie Barr (21) - Total 99 points

About

The Bronze Teams' Stableford Event was first played in 1967 and was won by Yarra Yarra. The event was introduced to provide higher handicap markers the opportunity to play in a State level event. Each Club may enter a team of three players with handicaps ranging from 19 to 38 inclusive.

The team with the highest aggregate points will be presented with the Cup whilst the best and second best individual scores will receive trophy orders.
