WGV seeks to be exemplary in its leadership and governance. Regular board meetings together with frequent meetings of the key committees ensure the ongoing progress and management of WGV.

Chairs from both the board and the committees undertake regular governance training to make certain our organisation achieves and abides by legal, fiscal and ethical responsibilities.

Heat Guideline

Golf Victoria (GV) has an obligation to act responsibly when managing and delivering tournaments, events and activities. There is no 'one size fits all' answer for dealing with hot and humid conditions. As such, each GV tournament, event or activity will be assessed on a case by case basis.

GV has formulated Heat Guidelines and a Heat Strategy to minimise the risk of injury, illness and possible death as a result of activity undertaken in hot weather. The Guidelines are intended for administrators, officials, coaches and participants to recognise and manage potentially dangerous situations. GV has developed these Guidelines in accordance and in consultation with Sport's Medicine Australia (/www.sma.org.au). As golf is considered a low intensity sport by SMA, SMA Guidelines have been modified as appropriate to the sport.

It is important to note that the recommendations contained in GV's Heat Guideline and Strategy documents are guidelines only.
